Workshop structure and benefits



A week before the workshop, you'll receive a written assignment to reflect on your tasks, your work, and your career. You'll be seeking to identify what works for you, what doesn't, and what you enjoy most.



This highly interactive session includes self reflection, how you tell your story today, and future thinking. Plus, you get to hear from an executive panel on career issues. Facilitated by Angee Linsey, workshops help attendees learn to build and put into practice the tools to manage your career.



Workshop momentum continues with webinars that meet every other week for six weeks. Each session, we check in with each other, join accountability groups, and work to establish patterns of career intentionality.

    We’ll cover topics including your personal values and vision for your career, how you tell your story and position yourself in a variety of settings, how you identify and nurture your personal board of directors and more!

    Guest speaker Andrea Dahmer is an expert at building long-term networks and keeping them alive. She'll show practical steps you can do right now to make this part of your ongoing career action plan.

  • Webinar 2 – Nov 28, 12–1:30pm PST

    Guest speaker  Mark Dollins brings his comms executive expertise to help you use a competency model to better evaluate yourself and your team. From there, we'll show how to have the right conversations with your leadership so they become champions for you and your team to grow.

  • Webinar 3 – Dec 12, 12–1:30pm PST

    In our final session, we will solidify our Career Action Plan and participate in an amazingly powerful exercise that demonstrates how together we can help each other be more intentional and achieve our career goals for years to come.

Steve Astle is SVP and managing consultant at Text100, a global marketing communications consultancy. He has more than 25 years of experience advising a wide range of businesses about how to capitalize on digital innovation and disruption to reposition themselves for long-term competitive advantage. He has worked in-house and as a consultant to early-stage companies as well as global, iconic businesses including Bloomberg, FICO, PayPal, Visa, Oracle, Cisco, Motorola and many others. He is an alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds advanced degrees in Psychology.



After a long career leading communications at major corporations including Charles Schwab & Co., Visa USA, General Motors and Levi Strauss, John Onoda has served as a consultant for both Fleishman Hillard and, currently,  Gagen McDonald on a wide range of communications issues, most often advising on matters relating to strategy execution, change management, corporate reputation, best practices, corporate social responsibility and department structures. He also provides mentoring, coaching and advising to clients who face a myriad of obstacles that can prevent individuals or organizations from achieving their goals.



Donna Uchida is the Chief of Communications for the Office of the Chairman and CEO at Kaiser Permanente. She provides C-Suite strategic counsel in brand and reputation, executive visibility, external relations and internal engagement for global companies and agencies including Levi Strauss & Co., Oracle, Gap, Arysta LifeScience, Ketchum and Gagen McDonald. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Arthur W. Page Society.
